Like jailbreaking, your ability to unlock depends on your firmware version, but it also depends on your modem firmware (baseband). At the moment, not all firmwares and all modem firmwares can be unlocked and to remain unlocked it is important to remember to not update the firmware on your device until it is safe to do so. You may have to wait for a very long time for an unlock to become available if you update without waiting.

HOW TO INSTALL ULTRASN0W
- Once your device is jailbroken you will need to open cydia. Cydia has a brown icon. Tap it to open.
- Cydia may take a while to open depending on whether you have used it before. If you are prompted to install updates select "update all". If you are asked what type of user you are select "developer, no filters".
- Once cydia has finished installing updates, tap manage at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap sources
- Scroll down to repo666.ultrasn0w.com and select it.
- Select ultrasn0w.
- Tap "install" in the top right corner.
- Tap "confirm" in the top right corner.
- After being rebooted, your phone will be unlocked!
Once unlocked, do not update your device to a newer firmware yet as this will remove your unlock. I will post a safe method for upgrading your device on this blog once this becomes available.
